Dr. Barry Siegel
A Chicago native, Dr. Barry Siegel practiced optometry for more than 40 years. He brought 20 years of experience of practicing in many different optometric facilities in and around the Chicago area to Northcenter Eye Care. Dr. Siegel owned and managed Northcenter Eye Care for over 25 years until December 2016, when he chose Rosin Eyecare to assume the management and ownership of Northcenter Eye Care.
After assuming ownership of Northcenter Eye Care in 1991, Dr. Siegel expanded the scope of the practice to include many additional services. His focus on utilizing advanced technology to provide a high level of patient care and excellent customer service is one of his major priorities. He began as a solo practitioner with one employee to now working with seven employees and two additional optometrists.
Dr. Siegel’s roots are in the surrounding neighborhood having attended Lake View High School before pursuing his undergraduate degree in biology at the University of Illinois and Roosevelt University. He received his doctorate at the Illinois College of Optometry where he was a member of the local Tomb and Key Honor Fraternity for academics and the Beta Sigma Kappa International Honor Fraternity.
Dr. Siegel is a member of the American Optometric Association, the Illinois Optometric Association, and has been a member of the Northcenter Chamber of Commerce for more than 20 years. His hobbies include biking, fishing, travel, watching the Bears and the Cubs, and spending time with his two adult children.
Dr. Siegel retired from practice in April 2019.
Dr. Laura Blodgett
Dr. Laura Blodgett received her B.S. from the University of Rochester and her Doctorate of Optometry from the SUNY College of Optometry.
During her training, she completed rotations at the Northport VA Medical Center on Long Island and the East New York Diagnostic and Treatment Center in Brooklyn, NY.
Before moving to Chicago, Dr. Blodgett worked in private practice in New York City and Boston. She is passionate about medical mission trips and has worked on several in the Dominican Republic and El Salvador. She is able to conduct eye exams in both English and Spanish.
Originally from Buffalo, NY, Dr. Blodgett is an avid Buffalo Bills and Sabres fan. She also enjoys skiing, running, cooking, and traveling.
Dr. Jonathan Kowalski
Dr. Jonathan Kowalski received his B.S. from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign where he graduated with double majors in molecular & cellular biology and psychology. Dr. Kowalski earned his Doctorate of Optometry magna cum laude from the Illinois College of Optometry.
During his time at the Illinois College of Optometry, Dr. Kowalski was the recipient of the private practice club business plan scholarship, and was invited to join both the Tomb and Key Honor Society and the Beta Sigma Kappa Honor Fraternity.
Dr. Kowalski is board certified by the National Board of Optometric Examiners. Dr. Kowalski has performed the pre-operative programming and post operative management for over 20,000 corneal refractive surgery procedures. Dr. Kowalski has been published in the Journal of the Illinois Optometric Association and has presented numerous lectures on ocular disease and refractive surgery. His clinical interests include anterior segment disease, ocular surface disease, and co-management of refractive and cataract surgery.
Dr. Kowalski was born abroad, and raised in Streamwood, IL and attended the Bartlett High School Academy of Science, Math, and High Technology. He currently resides in Chicago, IL with his wife and two daughters.
