Meet Dr. Siegel and Dr. Liz
Dr. Barry Siegel
Dr. Barry Siegel has owned and managed Northcenter Eye Care since purchasing the practice in 1991. A Chicago native, Dr. Siegel has practiced optometry for more than 40 years. He brought 20 years of experience of practicing in many different optometric facilities in and around the Chicago area to Northcenter Eye Care.
After assuming ownership of Northcenter Eye Care, Dr. Siegel expanded the scope of the practice to include many additional services. His focus on utilizing advanced technology to provide a high level of patient care and excellent customer service is one of his major priorities. He began as a solo practitioner with one employee to now having seven employees and two additional optometrists.
Dr. Siegel's roots are in the surrounding neighborhood having attended Lake View High School before pursuing his undergraduate degree in biology at the University of Illinois and Roosevelt University. He received his doctorate at the Illinois College of Optometry where he was a member of the local Tomb and Key Honor Fraternity for academics and the Beta Sigma Kappa International Honor Fraternity.
Dr. Siegel is a member of the American Optometric Association, the Illinois Optometric Association, and has been a member of the Northcenter Chamber of Commerce for more than 20 years. His hobbies include biking, fishing, travel, watching the Bears the Cubs and spending time with his two adult children.
Dr. Elizabeth Saxton-Williams (Dr. Liz)
Dr. Elizabeth Saxton-Williams joined Northcenter Eye Care in 2008, after working in the field of Optometry for more than a decade. She received her undergraduate degree in biology from Iowa State University and her doctorate from the Illinois College of Optometry.
Prior to her graduation, Dr. Liz received honors in her externships through the VA hospital in Hampton Virginia, and a private ophthalmology practice in Des Moines Iowa where her focus was in ocular disease and emergency care. She also was on the Dean's List for her rotations in pediatrics, primary care and specialty contact lens fitting at the Illinois Eye Institute in Chicago.
Her interest in optometry began in high school, and through her education and work experience she developed a compassion for giving back. She has been able to accomplish this through the practice of optometry. At Northcenter Eye Care, Dr. Liz focuses not only on primary vision care but also assumes the majority of responsibility in pediatric care, treatment of ocular disease and emergency eye care. Her expertise extends to the treatment of binocular vision disorders, fitting contact lenses and the co-management of Lasik eye surgery.
Dr. Liz is an Illinois native who loves living in the city. She enjoys music, theater, art, travel and rooting for the Chicago Bears.
